Great South West - Week 2

Year 9 Ballarat Grammar School

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

This program places an emphasis on resourcefulness, teamwork, bravery and the development of community. Students work together to progressively achieve challenges faced through navigation, bush walking and canoeing.

The fourth OEG facilitated program in their senior school progression, students are required to take further ownership of the community aspect of the camp, such as cooking and timeline management. Bush walking and canoeing skills are taught by qualified OEG staff in a safe and controlled environment and whilst there is a perceived risk by the students, they are extremely safe. Students will rely on teamwork and cooperation amongst their peers for success in these areas.
