PROGRAM OVERVIEW
This year 8 program consists of activities that will introduce the students to adventure and developing new skills. The students will spend a few nights camping under the stars but will also experience staying in cabins. The program will prepare students for their 10-day experience in Year 9. Groups for this expedition will comprise of up to 20 students from their respective campus. Each group will be supported by an Expedition Group Leader from The Outdoor Education Group (OEG) and a Haileybury staff member. Groups will also be joined by specialist OEG staff members for many of the activities throughout the week.

Be it a day's hike or a short walk to camp, bushwalking engages all our senses allowing us to explore nature and our place within it. And we always find something exciting along the way!Camping

Camping out in tents is our speciality! We love telling stories around the campfire, looking up at the night sky and creating memories that will last a lifetime!Cycling

A favourite activity among our team, cycling along a windy track together or playing group games builds resilience and independence in young people.Rock Climbing

Rock climbing on a climbing wall or up a rockface invites students to set their own goals, step by step they develop confidence even if they don’t make it to the top in the beginning.Initiatives

Our many initiatives can be large or small group activities on the land or water, encouraging social connection, negotiation, problem-solving and adaptability, all while having fun!Cooking

For many, this is the first time they will be cooking and preparing their own meals. Some discover a new passion while developing healthy habits and self-belief.Abseiling

Descending a rock face or a climbing tower, we love the views from the top and the courage we see as students aim for their personal best and encourage one another.Canoeing

Following the flow of the river, we love to explore the waterways on our canoes. Working as a team, using our muscles and problem-solving together to reach our base for the night.

- Bring a packed lunch for the first day (no nuts)
- Full water bottles
- Nut free program
- All items in your personal bag – loose items can get misplaced easily
- Bring personal medications (with a letter from parents regarding administration)
