Yarra Valley Grammar Link@9 Step Up Step Out: Climbing and Bush-walking

Yarra Valley Grammar

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

Mount Arapiles is a world class rock climbing venue with climbs ranging from beginner, to some of the hardest in the world. This program operates from a base camp, where daily preparation, nightly reflection, and small group communal living take place . Students will be instructed in basic climbing techniques, belay work and introductory abseiling by qualified OEG staff in a safe and controlled environment. Students will then have an opportunity to progress onto “multi-pitch” climbing in small groups. This is where the rope is used to progressively move up the cliff face in stages. Students will rely on teamwork and cooperation amongst their peers for success in these areas
